    The main function of the road lighting system is to ensure traffic safety, improve the efficiency of transportation, ensure the safety of people, provide a comfortable environment, enhance the image of the city. Meet the functional needs of road lighting, improve the energy efficiency of road lighting system, reduce system power consumption, save energy, reduce pollution, in order to achieve the purpose of energy saving and environmental protection.

    The current international believes that to consider and formulate policies, regulations and measures on the energy-saving, obeys the principle is, electrodeless lamp to ensure the quantity and quality of road lighting enough premise, as far as possible to save the road lighting electricity, this is the road lighting energy-saving only correct principles. Energy saving of road lighting is mainly through the use of energy-efficient lighting products, improve quality, optimize the design of lighting and other means to achieve the purpose of benefit.

    In order to save the road lighting, some developed countries have put forward the principles and measures of energy saving. Such as the United States Institute of lighting put forward 12 principles of energy saving measures, Japan lighting popularity will put forward 7 principles are similar. Now only the lighting Committee (CIE) of the 6 principles of road lighting on the principle of narrative:

    (1) according to the visual work needs, determine the level of lighting;

    (2) the design of energy saving lighting is needed;

    (3) high efficiency lighting without glare;

    (4) considering the color of the high light source;

    (5) do not need to set off the lights or variable device;

    (6) regular cleaning of lighting fixtures and lighting, and the establishment of lamp replacement and maintenance system.

    Finally, Jun Yan Xie director said that energy conservation is a long-term work, need the scientific attitude, the spirit of perseverance, we need to make a difference, but also avoid under the slogan of saving, blind impulse, catch up with the trend, pay the unnecessary cost for the immature technology.
